Norma & Don Bauer came in to StoryQuilts about a year ago with a set of quilt blocks which had been made by Norma’s aunt in 1933. The staff at StoryQuilts helped Norma and Don pick out complimentary sashing and binding fabric to go with the blocks. Norma assembled the blocks by hand into a quilt top and hand quilted it. They recently came in to show us the finished quilt. The beautiful result is shown in the photo at left. Thanks to Norma and Don for letting us display it on our web site! As a side note, Norma also has put a copy of the original receipt for the block fabric on the back of the quilt-would you believe $0.18 to $0.24 per yard. NO, we didn’t sell them the sashing and other fabric for the same price! |
